Summer is here, and it’s time to break out your favorite bikinis! But before you hit the beach or pool, have you considered giving your butt some LOVE?

Just like your face, the skin on your body deserves love and attention too. Especially during the summer months when sun and heat exposure can be so drying that it leads to breakouts and flaky dull-looking skin.

Nourished skin is very forgiving of the extra weight you may carry from those winter months. Plus, we are all different sexy shapes and sizes, and when you are well-nourished, your curves naturally highlight your best assets; plus, a tan and a glowing complexion always make you feel like a new person. My weight definitely fluctuates, with me trying to slim down one week and eating my feelings the next, so it always leaves stretch marks when I’m not caring for my biggest organ. It’s so weird how we spend all day on our faces making sure she’s okay and totally forget we have waaaay more “skin in the game,” PUN Intended!

I will change that without breaking the bank and using harsh chemicals or injections (not that I’m opposed to that!) Instead, I want to make a special mask for your butt that will leave your skin feeling soft, smooth, and looking great in a bikini. My simple and natural DIY treatment will help you feel more confident in your swimsuit and help to improve the health and appearance of your skin using products you can get at the grocery store. Plus, you won’t break the bank because we need our extra cash during the summer months to go out and show off those assets.

Now, let’s make a mask for your ass!

I recommend an exfoliating mask if it’s been a few weeks between scrubs or you’re already noticing dryness. You don’t need to go out and buy expensive products to give your butt the love it deserves, and you probably have some of the ingredients for a natural mask in your kitchen. You can try all or pick your favorite one!

Start from the inside out.

Apple cider vinegar is known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, so take a tablespoon in some water, and you’ll actually reduce acidity in your body, which is great for your skin’s appearance and it fights cancer. Disease can’t live in an alkaline body, which makes it great for treating and preventing breakouts. Mix a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with a tablespoon of water and apply to your body using a cotton pad. Leave on for a few minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

Lemon juice for the caboose.

100% Lemon Juice Freshly Squeezed NO Added Water

Lemon juice is a natural exfoliator and can help to brighten and even skin tone. Put some in your hair while you’re at it to create some natural highlights. Mix a tablespoon of lemon with a tablespoon of honey and apply the mixture. Do NOT use this on your face. Again leave it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

Coffee grounds pre-mask.

Organic Fair Trade Sumatra Ground Coffee

Majestic Pure Fractionated Coconut Oil

Coffee grounds are great for exfoliating the skin and reducing the appearance of cellulite. After drinking that morning hit, don’t waste the grounds. Instead, add a tablespoon of grounds with a tablespoon of coconut oil and massage the mixture onto your tushy in a circular motion. Leave on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. The Caffeine feels cool and amazing!

Oatmeal ass pre-mask.

Bob’s Red Mill Organic Oats Rolled Regular

Oatmeal is great for soothing irritated skin, plus it’s great for treating sunburn and heat rash. Mix a tablespoon of oatmeal with a tablespoon of water to moisten; if you want to go even deeper, mix in a bit of baking soda. Apply the mixture and leave on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off.

Honey lovers mask.

Manukora MGO 50+ Multifloral Raw Manuka Honey New Zealand

Honey is a natural antibacterial and moisturizer, making it the perfect addition to your bum routine. Look for Manuka-medicated honey if you can, but it’s not a must if you want to use what you already have. Either way, honey is great for treating and preventing breakouts on your hiny. Mix a tablespoon of honey with a tablespoon of plain yogurt and apply the mixture to your tushy. Leave on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water.

Now let’s start the hydration process.

Avocado is packed with vitamins and antioxidants, making it great for nourishing and hydrating the skin. Mash a ripe avocado, riper the better, and mix with a tablespoon of honey to create a hydrating mask. Apply the mixture to your bottom and leave on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off.

The FINAL TOUCH TO SEAL THE DEAL:

When it comes to creating a body treatment oil combo, it’s essential to consider your skin type. So here’s a rundown of what these babies are good for so you can choose what’s best for you to mix and match and finish yourself off. Pun intended because you deserve to be selfish and do YOU!

Jojoba Oil:

Handcraft Jojoba Oil 16 fl. oz

Jojoba Oil is by far my favorite and is used by all my top makeup artist friends in NYC that literally do covers for Vogue Magazine. They use it because this oil has the smallest molecules, so it actually fits into the pores. Most oils will still have benefits, but they sit on the top of the skin, never absorbing. Jojoba oil is the most similar to the natural oils produced by our skin, making it a great choice for all skin types and known primarily for its moisturizing and soothing effect. If this is all you get from this article and you are not feeling the recipes, add this to your regime, and you’ll at least have upped your skin game substantially from this golden nugget.

Argan Oil:

Velona 100% Pure & Natural Argan oil

Rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids, argan oil is great for nourishing and hydrating the skin. It is especially beneficial for dry or aging skin, though it can be a little heavy on my skin, so use it sparingly.

Sweet Almond Oil:

Sky Organics Organic Sweet Almond Oil

This oil is rich in vitamin E and fatty acids, making it a great choice for improving the complexion and reducing inflammation and SUNBURN. It goes with all skin types but is especially beneficial for dry or sensitive skin.

Rosehip Oil:

Rosehip Oil for Face & Skin – Kate Blanc Cosmetics

Known for its anti-aging properties, rosehip oil is rich in vitamin C and essential fatty acids. It is excellent for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, most importantly, stretch marks! It doesn’t smell like roses, but it’s so worth it when you see the instant glow it gives your skin.

Grapeseed Oil:

Sky Organics Organic Grapeseed Oil

This oil is rich in antioxidants and linoleic acid, making it great for reducing inflammation and improving skin elasticity. Grapeseed oil suits all skin types but is especially beneficial for people with oily or acne-prone skin. So try this if the jojoba oil is making you break out. I would always use it sparingly; you can always add more later in the day and after you’ve been in the water.

Remember, these are all-natural, so you can’t go wrong. If you are especially sensitive or allergy-prone, do a spot test first. Mix and match oils, and if you break out, use one of the pre-masks again and leave for a day, then try a different mask. Have fun this summer, and stay S’ASS’Y!
