7 Rituals You Can Do At Home During The New Moon

“New moons are for new beginnings.” 

You’ve probably heard this phrase before and wondered what it means. Most humans feel connected to the moon and are aligned with its energy. Some even feel a sense of comfort when they look up at the sky and see the moon. Considering the moon controls tides and your body is made up of 60% water, it makes sense why we feel the connection. 

The moon is technically 238,855 miles away, but the different phases, including the New Moon, affect us significantly. For example, many people experience heightened emotions and feelings during the full moon. While it’s unclear exactly how the moon affects our mood and mental health, it’s evident that it plays a significant role in our lives.

The new moon marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle, often bringing an array of new beginnings. This is why you should embrace the new moon’s energy to set your intentions, manifest whatever you want, and transform your life. Whether you want to take your career to a new level or eliminate old habits that no longer serve you, the new moon is a chance to reset and start fresh.

Here’s how to manifest and reset during the new moon!

1. Set A Worthwhile Intention

The new moon occurs every 28-30 days, allowing you to set a worthwhile intention every month. Simply ask yourself, “What are my intentions this month?” and take time to ponder and find the answer. The more true you are to yourself, the more likely you’ll achieve what you want.

Your intentions can be anything from obtaining a new job to meeting the love of your life. The goal is to wish for something from the bottom of your heart and affirm that it will happen. Once you visualize it and are clear and specific about your intentions, your wishes can come true.

2. Create an Affirmation

If there’s something you want to achieve or get, believing it’s already yours is essential in making it a reality. Many people underestimate how powerful doubt and fear are in blocking success, blessings, and gifts from the universe. A simple act of second-guessing or questioning pushes your manifestations further away. 

Use the new moon’s powerful energy to affirm that everything you want is already yours. For example, if it’s a new house, your affirmation can be – “I love my house, and my house loves me.” Alternatively, if you’re looking for a healthy relationship, it can be – “I am worthy of love and have everything my partner needs.”

You can have as many affirmations as you’d like as long as they’re things you truly wish for. Remember to practice saying your affirmations daily in front of the mirror and believe them as you say them.

3. Light a Candle

During the new moon, the sun and the moon align, and the sun shines behind it, blocking us from viewing it. This makes the new moon one of the darkest nights of the month, and if you’re not careful, this darkness can manifest in your life. 

Luckily, you can ask the universe to shine light into your life by lighting a candle. Take it a step further by charging the candle with the intentions you wish to manifest. Simply hold the candle and ask the universe for what you want. Be sure to summon feelings of gratitude and love and let the candle burn out on its own.

4. Write in Your Journal

Journaling is probably familiar to you, as people have used it for decades to document their lives and improve their mental health. But did you know you can use journaling to manifest the life you want?

A journal is a great way to sketch out your life detail by detail. You can write down what you want to achieve, what you must do to get there, and what behaviors you need to adopt. You can also track your progress and practice gratitude for every step you accomplish.

Energy doesn’t lie, whether it’s a person or situation, and you attract what you are. Surrounding yourself with authenticity, purity, and trust rubs off on you and ensures you can stay intentional with your manifestation journey.

One of the ways to ensure your energy is high, vibrant, and positive is to create a sacred space in your home for meditation, self-reflecting, and manifesting. This space should be tidy, organized, clean, and only accessible to you. You don’t want other people’s energy lingering around where you make your own magic. You can harness the new moon’s creative power to create this sacred space.
